Freshwater Cleveland and Beauty for Ashes team up to review UH's CenteringPregnancy Program which reduces preterm births and infant mortality for Cleveland's African American mothers

University Hospitals Rainbow Center for Women and Children’s CenteringPregnancy provides prenatal care for expecting women and their partners:

• In most cases, insurance for prenatal care covers the cost of the program.
• CenteringPregnancy subsidizes the cost of transportation with free bus tickets.
• Through its multiple partners, CenteringPregnancy connects participants with referrals for free baby clothes, formula, pack-and-plays.
• Group session include meeting with a midwife.
• Following delivery, the program provides one year of postpartum health checks for mental health. Additionally, they have two postnatal programs.
• Expecting mothers may bring their older children, removing the need for childcare.

Loganberry Books: Imaginary Creatures Writing Contest

Bored with the stay-at-home humdrum? Why not use some of that extra free time to write a short story (up to three pages) or poem for the chance to win a $40 gift certificate for Loganberry Books and publication on Loganberry's blog and social media? 

The topic is "My Favorite Imaginary Creature" and there will be prizes for three age groups: children (up to age 13), teens (up to age 19), and adults. Submissions will be accepted March 30-April 30, 2020.
